Event Details:

Executive Director, Sean Pica and the Board of Hudson Link invite you to join us in celebrating our history and honoring two individuals who have made significant contributions toward achieving our mission.

Dominic Carter, Regional News Network Commentator will serve as the evening's Master of Ceremonies.

This year’s benefit dinner will also honor two remarkable award recipients. The 2020 Brian S. Fischer Award, given each year to a formerly incarcerated community leader, will be awarded to Reverend Demetrius Jifunza, outspoken activist, and community organizer. This award will celebrate Mr. Jifunza for his work and dedication to making voting rights possible for formerly incarcerated men and women in Florida and around the country. We are so excited to be able to honor Demetrius’ hard work and dedication to formerly incarcerated men and women at Hudson Link’s 2020 Spring Benefit Dinner.

We are also so excited to announce that the 2020 Bill Webber Award Community Service Award will be presented to artist and activist, John Forte! The Grammy-winning performer, composer, and producer is best known for his work with the hip-hop team, The Fugees, but after his incarceration and subsequent sentence commutation by President George W. Bush, he has used his art as a tool of social activism, promoting criminal justice and sentencing reform, and empowering the children of incarcerated parents through his work at In Arms Reach. Hudson Link would like to Honor Mr. Forte for his work and dedication as an outspoken force for change in this field.
